2018 News & Events

Tannith Potgieter Y12 received 3 awards at the Johnsonville Bowling Club Annual Prize giving held on Friday 18 May  - Most Improved Junior Player, Club Champ Singles 1-5 years and Club Champ 4's.

She also received 2 further awards from the Wellington Bowls Annual Awards  - Regional  Champ of Champ Singles 1-5 and Regional  Champ of Champions 4's.


National Swimming Results
Wynter
Tickle, Y8,
 did well at the Swimming New Zealand Division II competition in March placing 17th in 200m breaststroke and 24th in 100m individual medley. Wynter’s races were 13 & under so she placed well against girls, some nearly 14 years of age.  
 
In the 
16 and over category, Thomas Lee, Y12, gained gold in 100m breaststroke and 4th in 50m breaststroke and 4th in 50.  Todd Bishop, Y12, gained bronze in 100m breaststroke, silver in 100m IM, 
Bronze in 4 x 50m medley relay, 3rd in 50m breaststroke, Thomas Lee 4th in same race and Phoebe Lee 5th in 50m breaststroke.

gained
 bronze in the 4 x 100m relay (Todd swimming breastroke and Thomas butterfly) and bronze in the 4 x 50m freestyle relay. Thomas gained gold in 200m breastroke and Todd silver in the 50m freestyle. 


On Sunday 18th March 2018, Bailey Symons Y7 participated in a softball tournament at Fraser Park in Hutt Valley.  It was a Western Bays Under 13 Girls invitational team. 
They played 3 games, winning 2 out of 3 and finishing 2nd overall in the tournament.  Well done!

Congratulations to Maddie Leslie Y11 who had a huge 3 days of riding and heat in Hastings recently and placed in all classes as follows:

Rising star saddle hunter pony 138-148cm - 2nd
Rising star saddle hunter pony of the year 138-148cm - 5th sash
Level 2 pony dressage title class 2d - 5th
Level 2 pony title Musical freestyle - 6th sash
Level 2 pony overall championship - 4th sash

Lupe Aitogi-Paese, Y12
, volunteered at the recent Discovery School X Games, following a call for helpers from our student community. The very well organised event was a great success and Lupe and Mum had lots of fun, running the popular pulled pork pita and salad food stall, as well as running some games to relieve other volunteers and enjoying meeting people from different walks of life. Great work Lupe!

Catriona McCann Whittington Y12
had a great weekend of shooting at the Kiwitea Champs and won her class.
