2017 News & Events

Greta Gilbert, Y7, is a keen cake decorator and is often making cakes for people.  Last weekend she created a triple layer chocolate cake, with vanilla cream, for a fundraising High Tea held by PADA (Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Association) at The James Cook Hotel.  She decorated it with a grey water colour on one side and a pink water colour on the other. She had five emoji’s that showed the journey through depression back to happiness. The main auction was Depressed Cakes.  These were to have grey in them in some way to represent the greyness of depression.   Most of the cakes were donated by some of Wellington’s most celebrated cake makers.  Greta was the youngest and most novice cake maker.  Her cake was very well received and reached the highest auction price of the day - $180

Congratulations to Tannith Potgieter Y11 who recently played in the Regional Mixed Pair Bowls Championships. She got through to the last 16 out of 106 teams, a phenomenal achievement! Johnsonville Bowling Club commented, “In open competition, one of the most intriguing aspects of our sport can be a match-up between the most and least experienced players. And so, among the last 16 of (the) Bowls Specialist Mixed Pairs, new 1-5 rep Tannith Potgieter found herself playing against Rob Ashton.” Rob is one of the top players in New Zealand. Well done Tannith!

Thank you to our sponsor The Horsewear House for supporting this combination. Millie now loves peanut butter sandwiches.
