Whitby Parents' Association

The Marsden Whitby Parents’ Association (MWPA) committee is currently a small group of parent members, which meets twice a term through the year.

Any Marsden Whitby parent is able to attend and speak at any Committee meeting. MWPA meeting dates are advised in the Weekly Update. Marsden Whitby parents are able to join the committee by being elected at the AGM held in March each year. The MWPA committee represents & acts on behalf of all Marsden Whitby parents. All families belong.

The MWPA role includes:

  • Developing a sense of community among pupils & parents involved with the school
  • Providing a link between home and school
  • Helping with improving facilities on campus
  • Supporting the school programmes with fundraising events
  • Offering support with events run by the students

The Marsden Whitby Parents’ Association operates separately from the Karori Parents' Association although it has the same goals and objectives. Marsden Whitby invoices the Association a subscription fee, per term per family (family levy fee), dispersed to the fees account. This subscription enables the MWPA to support events at the Whitby Campus and run larger fundraisers here for our school.

MWPA Meeting Dates TBA
All meetings held 7pm in school staff room

We are a small team and the workload is not onerous but is hugely rewarding. This is a great way to have a practical input into your child’s school environment and a chance to meet more of the parent community. We welcome new members and offers of assistance.

Please contact the school if you would like one of our members to get in touch to talk about our work, or simply come along to one of our meetings.
